Public Safety &
CBRN Response

Benefits
Safer assessment & data collection through remote LAMP deployment on unmanned robotic platforms.
Faster situational understanding to inform dynamic response via real-time data remotely streamed over a network.
Enhanced response through intuitive, visual 3D maps highlighting where hazards are. (No physics degree needed to interpret the data)
Deploy multiple LAMP systems on multiple robots (UAV & UGV) to rapidly assess large areas and combine data into a single global map.
Highlighted Use Cases
Event Security
Emergency Response
Port/Border Monitoring

The GRI LAMP system was deployed on a Boston Dynamics Spot robot during an emergency response training exercise at a transit station in a major city to map, localize, and identify potential radiological threats and hazards.
-
LAMP & Spot were remotely operated from the command center into the station to collect data without sending personnel in.
-
Data was streamed in real-time over a mesh radio network to rapidly provide radiation and situational awareness data
-
The 3D radiation map and other data updated in real-time as LAMP+Spot covered more areas.
-
The intuitive 3D radiation map was used by first responders to plan an optimized response to the train cars that were identified to have potential radioactive sources in them.
